Yercaud, this is the place I  headed to. I was in the bus which is bound to reach CBE, it was 4 30am and I peeped out frm my window to see the salem city. It was live by then, lots of shops were open and people were already started to walk, since it was main road there were many small shops. I reached the bus stand around 4 45am and I stepped down from the bus to keep my first footsteps in this city. I never been here, it was all the transit during my m;lore trip. I headed straight to the Tea shop to buy myself a cup of tea, I got the spl tea and it tasted very nice, it was almost like masala tea. It was already 5am and the weather was little cold, tea helped me to keep myself warm. I went searching for the Yercaud bus, and yeah I found it and it was ready to leave. I took the bus and sat near the window, cant miss such an opportunity to see the nature more close. Driver sat in his thrown and engine got its life and started to roar. It was 5 15am and the weather was amazing. After a brief drive, I could see a board and it was a welcome message frm the government, ” Welcome to Yercaud have a pleasant stay ” and my energy boosted instantly.

Bus journey was good, I had to witness 20 hair pin bends. The distance was almost 20 to 25 kms from ground level. It was nice to see the nature at its best, and that too in early morning, nothing can be written about that beauty, you need to witness it. People were walking and I could also see few people meditating. The breeze was powerful with medicated and natural herbs. By 6 20am I was in the top of the ghats, Yercaud I am there ! Got down and I need to take few steps to reach my hotel, Hotel Tamil Nadu. I would def recommend this place, its nice. People shouldn’t expect all the comforts when your out from your own place. If you have an open mind, its the best place to stay. I got the room and clicked few Pics, I dint want to waste any more time in the room, so freshned up and went down for breakfast. It was reasonable and good. I went for a walk nearby, I could see boat house and deer house. the  calmness in Yercaud is welcoming.
After this, I got myself a cab and went to all the important places in Yercaud like, Shervoroys Temple, Raja Rajeshwari Temple, Pakoda Point, Botanical Garden, Gents seat, Ladies Seat, Childrens seat, TV station, Rose garden, Kiliyur falls ( Couldnt reach this kiliyur falls, may be next time I could make it ).
This journey is really a rejuvenating one, if you feel depressed or if you think you need a break, then this is the place I will recommend. Its very economical and nearby if your in TN or Karnataka. The nearest spot is Salem which is very well connected via road, rail and air. Lots of buses go to Yercaud from Salem and vice versa. The last bus from Yercaud is 21 30 hrs. So enjoy your stay. I envy those people in salem, how close are they to this natural wonder. Yercaud – Its really a poor man’s ooty .
